详情介绍:

Calcium chloride (chemical formula: CaCl2) is a white or slightly yellow solid inorganic compound, belonging to the category of salts. It is a typical ionic halide and widely used in various fields due to its high solubility, hygroscopicity, and dehydration. According to its hydration form, it exists in different physical forms, with the most common being dihydrate (CaCl2 · 2H2O). Its high solubility allows it to quickly dissolve in water, releasing a large amount of heat, making it very useful in applications that require rapid heating or drying. In addition, calcium chloride is often used in salt water, road deicing agents, and desiccants used in refrigeration equipment.

physical property:

Colorless cubic crystal, white or grayish white, available in granular, honeycomb block, spherical, irregular granular, and powder forms. Slightly toxic, odorless, and slightly bitter in taste. Highly susceptible to deliquescence when exposed to air. Easy to dissolve in water, with a solubility of 74.0 g/100 g of water at 20 ℃, while releasing a large amount of heat (the enthalpy of dissolution of calcium chloride is -176.2 cal/g).

chemical property:

Electrolyte properties:

In aqueous solution, calcium chloride is completely ionized into Ca ² ⁺ and Cl ⁻ ions, exhibiting strong electrolyte properties. This electrolyte property makes calcium chloride solution highly conductive and capable of effectively conducting current, while also making it an important chemical raw material and analytical reagent. In fields such as water treatment, metal processing, and chemical synthesis, the property of calcium chloride can be effectively utilized for ion exchange, pH adjustment, and precipitation of metal ions.

Reactions with other chemical substances:

Calcium chloride can also undergo double substitution reactions with salts such as sodium sulfate (Na2SO4) to form precipitates of sodium chloride and calcium sulfate. The characteristics of this chemical reaction have important applications in industrial production and laboratory analysis, such as adjusting water hardness or using it as a precipitant.

antidote:

The pH value of a 5% aqueous solution is 4.5-9.2. 1.7% aqueous solution is isotonic with serum. This product is made from calcium carbonate and hydrochloric acid as raw materials, and is an antidote for magnesium poisoning [4]. Calcium ions can form insoluble calcium fluoride with fluoride, which is used for the rescue of fluorosis.
