详情介绍:

Ammonium sulfate, commonly known as ammonium sulfate, is an inorganic salt compound with the chemical formula (NH4) 2SO4 and a molecular weight of 132.14. At room temperature, it is a colorless rhombohedral crystal. Industrial products are generally small white or slightly yellow grains, but a few by-products have colors such as slight blue and dark brown. The relative density is 1.77, the melting point is 280 ℃ (decomposition), and it is soluble in water but insoluble in ethanol and acetone. The aqueous solution is acidic (pH=5.5, 0.1mol/L), and the solubility in water decreases with increasing ammonia content. Ammonium sulfate is prone to moisture absorption and solidifies into blocks after absorbing moisture. In terms of chemical properties, it reflects the characteristics of ammonium salts and sulfates. It reacts with alkali to release ammonia gas, which can be decomposed into ammonia gas, nitrogen gas, and sulfur dioxide when heated. It forms barium sulfate precipitate with barium chloride and brown precipitate with alkaline mercuric potassium iodide solution.

physical property:

Appearance and Characteristics: White crystalline powder

Melting point: 230-280 ℃

Relative density: 1.77g/cm3

Solubility: Dissolve 70.6g at 0 ℃. Dissolve 75.4g at 20 ℃. Dissolve 78g at 30 ℃. Dissolve 81g at 40 ℃.

chemical property:

White crystalline powder, with an acidic aqueous solution. Insoluble in alcohols, acetone, and ammonia water. Has hygroscopicity and solidifies into blocks after absorbing moisture. Heating above 513 ℃ completely decomposes into ammonia, nitrogen, sulfur dioxide, and water. When it interacts with alkalis, it releases ammonia gas. Reacts with barium chloride solution to form barium sulfate precipitate. It can also cause protein salting out.
