Ultra fine aluminum powder is a type of aluminum powder produced by atomization method, with an average diameter of no more than 30 microns, mainly used as solid fuel for rockets. The atomization method is the best way to produce extremely fine aluminum powder, which has the advantages of large output, high quality, low cost, safety and reliability. In the early 1980s, the content of ultra-fine aluminum powder in aluminum powder produced in China had reached over 60%, which was significantly higher than the 10% to 20% content of conventional atomized aluminum powder. In addition, ultra-fine aluminum powder can also be used as advanced coatings, with particles mostly in granular and nearly spherical form. The active aluminum content is over 97%, and more than 65% of the particle size composition is less than 45 μ m.
